He's more or less from the Town, and he's fully aware there are many worlds upon this pond they call the Deck. Outsider seems to be the best category because that's how he's chosen to place himself. He's 'safe'. And now he's being pushed into a new world.

Christopher's eyes linger on her fingers for a moment, then dart away. Rude of him. But he does recognize this gesture of nerves. He's seen a hundred nervous ticks in his students as they grow into adults.
"It's unfair of me to put you in the spot. I... knowing Fin, Fin may not enjoy the diplomacy of speaking to researchers and historians and blame is harder to place when there are more heads to point at." He smiles encouragingly. "That's exactly what I'd like to see."
