It wasn't an entirely surprising conclusion, Victor thought. He'd even suspected as much sense the day they'd spoken to the Arcana for the first time. But just because something wasn't surprising didn't mean he intended to rush to the most obvious conclusion.

"Or," he said in a thoughtful tone, "that is what they what us to believe." A rift would push them as a group closer- or rip them apart. Either way- he was almost certain that he'd have to meet this Burke for himself before he really got anywhere.
