So....it might have been his fault. He might have muttered something about Sandy not knowing how to play poker with a group of other Hearts that might have included Sorcha. In hindsight, he shouldn't have said anything. He didn't even recall why they'd been discussing poker to start with. It had just sort of come out and was gone with the next thought.
