[OTA] Day at the Beach

It wasn't, he supposed, really a beach yet, but the rhythmic movement of the tides were already starting to erode the the grace and soil and leave something sandier in it's place. Just at the edge for now, but in time it would become a mix of sand and stones, with only patches of the grass that was currently blanketing the ground in between patches of snow.

He kicked a pebble into the...well, sea, he supposed, and eyed it before looking out at the island with the door.

"... yeah, that doesn't sound like a great idea to me. Let's nix it," she says with a giggle. "... speaking of which, um. I was wondering. Do you have anything you're planning on doing on the day of Zoe and Victor's wedding?"

"What are you talking about? Victor's so sweet and charming." She ducks her head. "And, uh... Zoe said she'd put aside the grudge for a night if you. Um. Came with me. And didn't hold up a wall the whole night."

...Not seriously. He thinks about his encounters with Victor - none entirely pleasant thanks, he was certain, in part to Zoe - and gives Edie a dubious look. "If you say so," he says. And then, "are you sure you want me to?"

"Yeah. Don't- don't worry. It's not serious or anything. I just can't show up single when I'm pretty sure even my baby sister is going to have a boy on her arm, you know what I mean?" The tone of her voice is teasing. It's probably for the better.

Not to mention, he supposed, that since Elani McCartney was one of Victor's friends...Alasdair DeWitt would probably be there, too. "Cordelia's old enough for that?" He asks, before sighing. "I can probably manage it, if you're sure you don't want to go with someone else."

"No, no, it's fine. I just haven't been to a wedding in a while. Hadyn had to represent at the Berthier thing because I conveniently had the excuse of..." having slept with the maid of honor and one of the bridesmaids, both of which were the bride's sisters. "Needing to be off-Deck," he finishes lamely.

"I'm sure it'll be fine. Zoe'll likely have eyes for no one but Fox, anyway, and can't attempt to kill me with a shoe again."

But probably planned on it at some point, Jordan thinks. But that was in the past. Maybe he would have planned on his own wedding if Meghana hadn't left when she did.

"Maybe she'll be too tired to notice." Or too happy to care. For all the flurry that Hadyn had told him about, it didn't really seem like she was a bridezilla.
