He's not so much returned to mingle as he was lurking in the corner pretending not to be doing work on his phone. Of course, when he sees Chives out of the corner of his eye coming in his direction in that Chivesian strut, the phone disappears into his pocket in one smooth, swift motion as if he'd not been fingering it two seconds before.
