It's Swing Time~

It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Elisha's motivation for organizing - or, honestly, delegating the organization of - a semi-formal dance party. Lucinda had suggested a ball, with stars in her eyes. She probably had already picked out ballgowns and themes in her head when Elisha had nixed the thing and - in a moment of desperation, with the memory of the swing-themed Fox wedding still in his head - suggest a Spring Swing, instead.

Everyone had run with it, and Elisha was pleased to say it had come out well. He was even more pleased to say that he didn't have to wear a suit, even if he stepped out into the lantern-lit gardens in everything but the tie. He paused near the raised dais provided for dancing and gave the small band the signal to start up the music before he attempted to fade back in the crowd. Not that that ever worked.

"Let the games begin," he murmured to no one in particular as he picked up a glass of champagne off a tray.

Note: Open to everyone and their brother; tag around, have fun!

The Spring Fling was supposed to be a casual do, but Monty had dressed up some for his gal once a certain shopkeeper had let slip Blythe had bought a pretty new dress. He felt a fellow ought to try to shine for his date every bit as much as she did for him. He's here, looking sharp in wingtips and fedora. He even wore a tie, though it ain't likely that'll last through the evening. He's already unbuttoned the top button of his shirt so's he can breathe a might better.

For now, he's sipping his rye and enjoying the sight of the Little Bit flitting around the dance floor.

"Well, look who got himself all fancied up," Johnny says, with a grin. Of course, he himself is looking a bit more put together than is his usual but...details. The tie, though, has been loosened and probably will slip off at some point whenever his top button gets undone too. The hat was lost sometime around when he was taking Rita for a turn around the dance floor.

At least he's not wearing a damn vest. Monty slouches against the wall and lifts his tumbler to Johnny. "Reckon it's the least I can do seeing as how my date's all gussied up. Enjoying yourself?"

The vest is very snazzy and all the girls like it, Monty. So there.

"'Bout as much as a guy can, I think. Certainly had plenty of dancing and drinks. Where's your date?"
