[ota] Scouting...
Addy had made a ton of list for Elani, even taped them to his desk for when she got back. One list of the countries and people representing them, for the booths and who was making them, one for musicians and entertainers to help with the people that were frankly unable to be even remotely entertaining.
Like Fin.
Not that Fin knew there was going to be a lot of entertaining going on to earn his coffee, but Addy didn't figure that was a much needed detail. At least not at the moment. But his lists went on- foods, supplies, time tables. On and on and on.
But that aside, he also had his plan to bug the Arcana Embassy- which had been put on hold because Elisha skipped town (not burning out his arse), Tegan was doing whatever Jacks did, And Avery was....whatever.
He hadn't found anyone willing to be distracting, yet. So that left him with simply sneaking in, which was not going to be easy- except where they never locked doors apparently. Which made no sense to him, but it wasn't his Castle. So why did it matter? Aside from feeling utterly like a trap waiting to be sprung on the unsuspecting. It was probably some mad house inside, waiting for the right mind to torture and break before twisting to their own sadistic plans. They were probably creating a sleeper agent of dozen in the basement- there had been some cases of disappearing twos after all. What where the chances they all ran off deck at the same time?
Exactly.
Frowning, Addy packed his backpack with all the gear he needed- and headed outside. Before he decided to break into the damn Embassy he was going to get as much information on that he could from the outside.
And try not to stand out in the process. It wasn't like tourist were common place, but maybe if he just looked....bored enough they wouldn't think anything of it, right?

"Did the Clubs assign a new emissary, too?"
Except, Mr. Addison, she remembered when you were basically living out of Victor's office, and she...sort of doubted that.
no subject
"No," he said, turning to look at Zoe a bit skeptically. "Just out for a walk."
no subject
As it was, she just tipped her head up to look at the spires and then back at Addy. Uh-huh. "They tend to come out and investigate. I tried building inspector once, but it didn't really fly."
no subject
"Maybe it was because you're a Spade." Because clearly that made her untrustworthy at the core of things. People could sense that.

"Its okay though. I don't trust'm either. So we're on equal ground there."
no subject
"Pretending to trust them can be pretty useful, though," she said.
no subject
Getting better, but still.
"Your boyfriend lets you come do this?"
no subject
But there were probably worse diplomatic partners. Oliver, for example.
"He doesn't like it," she said. "But it's difficult to argue with orders from the Ace." Although she was sure Victor could manage it. "And he lets me make my own decisions."
no subject
Which was really weird to think that the Spade was less controlling.
"What are you taking them?"
no subject
So she just opened the box. "Homemade apple turnovers. Want one?" Aunt Maggie had drilled it into her - oh, years ago - that one of the best ways to get someone to lower their guard was to look harmless, and that one of the best ways was to come bearing homemade baked things. Who suspected the girl with the muffins, after all?
Well, turnovers, but the point stands.
no subject
"What's the best way to get in there without notice?"
no subject
"There are side entrances," she says. "It's still no guarantee that you won't be seen, because they have servants...but it's a little less likely that the Magician will be standing there giving you a curious look." But not impossible. By any means.
"If you wait until I'm inside, they might be a little more distracted?"

"Lets go."
no subject
"Good luck."
Ideally, after all, they wouldn't be seeing each other once inside.

Except she isn't. Instead she's heading toward the Arcana Embassy with Lucas as if it was everyday she does this.
"Milady Jack Avery has asked me to accompany you during your visit at the embassy," she said at last. She looks up at him to give brief eye contact before looking back down at the cellphone. "She said you were attempting to have a Diamond be brought along and she assigned me. If this is a problem then I do apologize but this is an order I'll accomplish."
no subject
He was getting better.
"...That doesn't even make sense," he protested, stopping in his steps to stare at Danielle suspiciously. "She said no- so why would you be here?"
no subject
"After careful consideration some time after your conversation with her, she decided to retract her earlier decision and agreed to it. Sending me in the process." She stops walking as well and continues to type away a message. Possibly to one of the members of IM about some scheduling conflicts. Or just a hello to her parents. "If you wish to -- We can head all the way back to the Diamond Castle, make an appointment with the busy Milady Jack Avery and wait for confirmation about my claims when we are allowed to see her at last."

Like camping. The Camping was fine, actually, the whole 'we aren't going to have sex' and then leaving the condoms at home that turned into 'lets have sex, oh you forgot the condoms? I'll just torture you'.....
Yeah. Not the best example, maybe, but the only one that came to mind at the moment. Well- aside from the 'I care about you' but 'I don't love you', mess. Yeah. Worked out great- the whole womanly, flip-flop mindset.
"You can go home."

"Those are the orders I've been given and those are the orders that I'll accomplish, Sir Eight." Her voice holds no argument or an invitation of such. The Look she gives him and her staying in the same spot until he moves indicates that clear as day. "I'll return back to my original duties when your duties of today are completed."
Which he should be getting to right away if he wants her out of his hair. Until then she's going to be hisoh-so lively company. Isn't that wonderful?
no subject
"Unless you plan to follow me around all day too."
no subject
"So you're willing to abandon your own set of orders simply because you've hit a minor difficulty?" Alright. She'll take note of that in this little report of hers she's writing up for Avery to see later. "And to answer your question: Yes. I'll be following you all day and possibly every day until you do your assigned task. I was never given a deadline to this after all and simply been instructed to see this through."
no subject
"No. But I don't have time to babysit you." He said with a grump. "You're not dressed properly, and you'll just endanger the whole goal."
