A storm to would-be death

[He'd gotten the power back. He'd finally (though it was hard to tell if his efforts had actually done anything for it) coordinated everything and the power was back on.

And he was so tired. Ready to sleep. Sleep harder and longer than he had in years. Until this little anonymous (no, that wasn't true. He knew him, knew all his Spades. It was just the exhaustion talking, the exhaustion) had appeared to what?

What, exactly did this child thing he could do to the King of Spades?

Nothing.

Which is why his voice is a frozen rumble as be literally tosses the would-be assassin out of his room, stalking into the hallway after the body.]

"'Welcome. And, no, Sir. Been lookin' forward to it. Know a few folk from your Suit already, so made sense for His Majesty to choose me. I didn't mind much. Always happy to get out and meet people. And given recent events, reckon it's 'bout time we all get to know each other better. Mighty good idea you had.

"Anyone else I can send your way?"

[Don't mind him none. No one can stand around and jaw quite like Monty can.]

[And that tendency makes him like half the people on the Deck. No one would ever deny that Monty enjoys the sound of his own voice. It's an excellent way to wear down someone fixing to assign you some nasty job you'd ruther not do. To bad it hadn't worked on this assignment.]

I'll do that, my Lord. [This time his bow's a bit more polished as he takes his leave.]
