[OTA] Casual Sketches

Elisha isn't in his office. He's not in his rooms, either, or his studio for that matter. If someone was looking for the King of Clubs, they'd have to go through all the usual suspects and some of the more unusual ones - the training rooms, the kitchens, the offices of the other Club Faces - before they came across him in a secluded corner of Club Castle's vast library. It's not the worst place to do paperwork. But he's not doing paperwork, of course. More...doodling. Faces instead of shapes, this time. There's one of Eileen, one of Hadyn, and maybe a few other random and not so random people. As like as not, they won't ever develop into anything more than this, but it's relaxing.

It gets his mind off everything else for a few moments, at least. At least, until someone finds his hiding place. Or, hey, maybe the library will sprout a picturesque cottage. Anything, apparently, is possible.

It's not like he'd planned this. He hadn't even spoken to Laura in years. Not since Carolina was born, really. But that call...well. A promise was a promise. And he was a doctor before all else, wasn't he? The problems with the Deck weren't something he could fix. There was nothing to diagnose. But this, maybe, he could fix. And maybe figure out just what he was doing here in the long-term.

"Not a huge problem. If I have to, I'll fly. The two weeks factors in travel time if I don't make it out exactly where I intend to be," he answers, after a brief pause. "And if anything happens, I'll have my phone. Practically speaking, I shouldn't be more than a few hours away at any given time."

And we just won't think about the Borders maybe not letting people in at any point in that time.

"Briony's agreed to take over the basics for the time I'm gone, and I've already cleared the schedule at the clinic and seen everyone necessary. There shouldn't be much that can't be handled while I'm gone. Of course, if there's anything you'd like me to see to before I go, I'm more than happy to."

He pauses for a moment, clearly trying to figure out how to phrase things.

"I haven't forgotten my responsibilities here."

He knows better than anyone just how few medical professionals there are on Deck, being one of those few, but some things can't be helped. Still, at least Elisha knows, and while he knows he isn't happy about it (well of course; who could be, a time like this?) at least he's prepared. Standing, Caleb shoves hands in his pockets.

"If you need me, call. I'll come right back, no matter where I'm at in the other thing."
