The trip to the outposts - they went to both Diamond and Spade - with Sophie had yielded a few sketches of buildings through a strange mist, but mostly it had cleared Jordan's head and made it clear to him that he was just so damn tired. Of being serious all the time, of keeping his head down, and of basically behaving more like he was forty six instead of twenty six.

The cure for this, obviously, was shopping.

Specifically the cure for this was hat shopping, though Jordan might also be getting distracted by a display of pocket squares too.

"Not get to party much in recent times, Jordan?" she asks with a sympathetic pout, "Such a shame."

Although she supposes he's been busy with other things, from what she's heard. How sad so many fun people get caught up in the hullaballo of Challenging and Suit-switching. It's all entirely uninteresting, to her.

"Oh, it's my own fault. I'm a drama queen." He grins a bit at her as he adjusts his hat. "I just can't leave well enough alone, you know. I get bored."

Which was...actually kind of true, really.

"Plenty of ways to fix that without getting all bloody about it," comes the playful reply as she studies the boots in the mirror.

Catching his eye in the glass, she adds, "That looks good on you."

"Do you think so?" He turns in the mirror to eye it from a different angle. "It might need to go home with me."

He nods at the boots. "What about those? Are you giving them a home?"

"I believe so." They make her legs look a little bit too good for her to pass up. "I'm afraid I've already gotten attached to them. It'd be a tragedy for us to part now."

He understands, doesn't he?

He understands perfectly. It's the same with him and knives, something most of his friends don't understand. But then, Ethan and Amy are really more into knives.

"There's enough tragedy in the world without breaking our hearts over accessories." He carries his hat to the register and looks over at her. "Maybe we ought to introduce our new friends to the world at the same time."

"That sounds like a wonderful idea."

Nothing better than celebrating new things with others, right?
