[OTA] A Sudden Bold and Unexpected Question

When King Theo had called her to his office, she had gone in fully anticipating he was going to tell her he was making her Head of Security at last. Which he did.

What she wasn't expecting was for him to offer the position of Queen. She'd been hesitant, at first, but as he explained his expectations and hopes for her and the rest of the Suit, she found herself feeling more comfortable as she recognized that they were the same. At the end, she'd accepted, and taken her leave to go get things in order in her office. Eventually, though, it properly sank in exactly what she'd committed to, and while she didn't regret it, she certainly needed a little bit of liquid courage to deal with the news.

Which is why, late in the evening, the new Queen of Hearts will make her way down to the Four Suits to indulge in a (surely well-deserved) drink.

"I'll do my best."

It's reassuring to hear such faith from someone who's been a Face for longer, younger though the woman is.

"That would be lovely," she says in regards to the drink, "Thank you."

"If I'm managing to hold on with the rocky start I have, you'll surely excel." Her laughter is sparkling as she sets some money down on the counter, ordering two beers. "Need any advice? Or do you think you've got this under your belt?" she teases.

"I'll take any words of wisdom you've got to offer," she answers with a wry smile but a clear desire for any advice that may come.

Good to hear things from people who've actually been holding a similar position, after all.

"You actually need sleep. And you won't get sleep unless you obsessively plan everything. At least... that was the case for me. So don't forget to put, y'know, naptime into your schedule. Or else I promise you'll end up wondering why you look like a zombie." She laughs, taking a drink. "Of course, that might be because I never had a full set of Face Cards as Ace until... now, actually."

A chuckle.

"I'm certain having a full set will definitely help. But I'll keep that in mind."

She likes sleep quite a bit, really. Wouldn't do to go without at least a little.

"Good. And, you know, I'm always here to help. That's what being Ace is about. So if you ever need anything... I've got you," she assures with a grin.

"Likewise," she says with a lopsided grin back.

They've got one another's backs, after all. It's what Hearts and Faces and friends are for.
