There's a yoga studio in Diamond Castle, of course. Silas is a devotee, and that means that yoga has a higher profile than it did before he became King and she became Ace (and Jack, before that). She's not using it today, though. It's become the kind of place where people look for her.

So instead she's in one of the few remaining empty rooms in Diamond Castle, in Pincha Mayurasana. She's simultaneously singing, though, which is probably not the most zen-like thing to do. Especially when it's Mickey.

She probably doesn't care, though.

"If I had a Leona, I'd be in her office once a week," Avery says. "I might start finding corners of the library, but there's more people there than you might expect, lately." Though Elani probably does expect it, considering she's the Clubs' Jack now.

"I keep expecting Fin and Sophie to face off over coffee in the rare manuscripts section."

"You mean they haven't yet?"

Well, they probably wouldn't actually have too much coffee. Lest it stain the manuscripts.

"Only because I think Sophie might stab him for bringing it in." That's what she'd been getting at.

"Well, or because they're busy actually trying to figure it out."

[the_songbird]

"I can't think of anyone better to do so, at least. So there's that."

And then. "Would have been nice if there were some sort of...Rosetta Stone for this somewhere."

But if there was, it hadn't been found yet.

"If we suggest that to Sophie - and Fin and Jordan - they'd probably conspire to start digging in open fields to find one." Which, honestly, was just as useful an idea as any other one they had.

If she had an idea of how to contact the Arcana, honestly, she probably would have by now - the Magician's actions be damned. It was beyond what they could figure out from their own records.

"That probably wouldn't be a very good plan." And yet, she can picture it all too well.

"I just wish it didn't feel like we've got...nothing else can do. Like whatever this is is simply inevitable."

"You can't think like that," Avery says, a little firmly. "We have to believe we can come up with an answer, because hopelessness will just make the situation worse."

Fake it 'till you make it. It's, perhaps, a particularly Diamond way of doing things.

Elani nods, it's not that fake it till you make it is bad advice...it's just tiring when no answer seems to ever present itself. "You're right. It's just...tiring." Perhaps she's actually reached the limit of her it'll be okay we'll make it through, keep going! McCartney energy. Or at least, getting there.

"Are you taking time for yourself?" Avery asks. "Not to sleep - though that's important - but to do the things you enjoy? Sing? Dance?" Maybe Elani was the one who needed to stand on her head and belt power ballads.

She laughs, "you're not the only one who's asked that, but...yes. Mostly. In the evenings."

Singing and dancing, not as much as once, but...well...one could dance while playing with their dog, right?

"Make sure you do," Avery says, pushing her hair back. "You can get worn down by working all the time just as much as you can from not sleeping."

"I will. I do. Maybe I'll go back to practicing bellydance, or something..."

At least it gave her an excuse to put on jingly, shiny things.

"Thank you for the conversation...I probably had best be getting back now, though."
