TGIF, isn't that what they say? Raphael has different reasons to be thankful for Friday than others. Friday is the day he gets to kick gently shoo Clive out of his office early so it can be emptied of the necessaries and painted over the weekend. He's got a lovely sunflower orange planned. Bright and unominous, just what the King ordered.

So if you're here looking for the King of Spades, Rap will apologise. Or not.

"Why wouldn't you do that on your own ceiling?" She asks, because she would. Unfortunately, her art skill is limited to fairly insipid watercolors and some embroidery.

"I'd think a sun might go well with the orange." Maybe a sunset. Maybe she's just trying to give him ideas that will get him in trouble.

[messire_messer]

"If you think I haven't, you should come see my apartment sometime. It's just not as public a space as this, alas." He'll make another sadly dramatic pose for her next line. "Too late, too late. I'm promised to solid colours for this office."

"You haven't invited me before." Of course, they haven't talked much before, as she is one of the butler's favorites. It sort of puts a wall up, from what she can tell.

"So, no sponge treatment, then. That's a shame."

"Well, now you are. So." Favourites or not, there's always an opportunity to steal them. In a manner of speaking.

"There will be other times. Perhaps Lady Katya will allow me to paint her office next."

"Mmhmm." She might wander his way, one of these days. When she's frazzled from last minute wedding planning and just needs to stare blindly at something for a while.

"I think she'd prefer cool colors, you know? Purple. Maybe teal. Or a nice, bright emerald."

[messire_messer]

Plenty of things to stare at in his apartment, at least.

Putting the brush absently to his chin results in a nice dash of orange under it, of course. "Purple, for royalty. And it'd go quite well with her colouring. I shall just have to persuade her."

"I suddenly understand why you're always covered in paint," Zoe says with a giggle, and then eyes one of the walls. "You could do a mural in here, you know."

[messire_messer]

"It's never poisonous, so it needn't matter where it goes," he shrugs, returning his attention to the wall. "Hm. If I did, I'd be painting over that too, but it'd still all be one colour anyway... no. Mustn't succumb. Just the small parts are enough."

Like those curlicues up the corners over there.

"The small parts...ah." She comes a little bit closer, gingerly. "Do you think Clive will notice them?"

[messire_messer]

"The filing cabinet should go in the corner, I believe, so unless he ever feels like rearranging..." He shrugs again. "A little present to surprise him, mm?"

She looks a little bit amused, but then she steps back - before paint gets on her shoes. "I'm sure he'd be amused by it," she says.

"I should get back to work, probably. And let you do yours."

"Enjoy your weekend while you're at it. I'm sure Master Edison will endeavour to make these last few hours unpleasant." And back to even blocks of colour. Curlicues later.
