It's Swing Time~

It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Elisha's motivation for organizing - or, honestly, delegating the organization of - a semi-formal dance party. Lucinda had suggested a ball, with stars in her eyes. She probably had already picked out ballgowns and themes in her head when Elisha had nixed the thing and - in a moment of desperation, with the memory of the swing-themed Fox wedding still in his head - suggest a Spring Swing, instead.

Everyone had run with it, and Elisha was pleased to say it had come out well. He was even more pleased to say that he didn't have to wear a suit, even if he stepped out into the lantern-lit gardens in everything but the tie. He paused near the raised dais provided for dancing and gave the small band the signal to start up the music before he attempted to fade back in the crowd. Not that that ever worked.

"Let the games begin," he murmured to no one in particular as he picked up a glass of champagne off a tray.

Note: Open to everyone and their brother; tag around, have fun!

Julien gives a wry expression, "I was thinking I'd leave the dramatic events to those who haven't had the opportunity recently, myself." That's why he's been on such quietly good behavior, of course. He's had plenty of experience making scenes in public.

"I see, taking the higher road these days?" Victor had to smirk a little at that. "Now just where is the fun in all of that?" Not that he would be encouraging bad behavior or anything.

"Please, Victor, take the low road and have all the fun you can stand. I shall certainly enjoy watching to see what comes of it."

Yes, step into his shoes for a moment or three and see how you like it, Fox. Then again, Victor had always managed a better handle on his outbursts than the former Ace. Julien had never bothered to ask him his secret.

"Oh, Julien. Don't be silly now. I never make a scene of my own choosing. Such a short term memory you have."

He offered Julien a bit of a smile, smoothing a hand over his stomach. "Don't be so serious. You should lighten up."

"I hope someone got that on record somewhere. Victor Fox, telling someone else to lighten up. It must be a first."

But there's less snark and sarcasm and more simple humor. Not lighthearted, of course, things never were between these two. But not all edges either.

"Don't be surprised. I am not so...stuck in my ways as you." He said, he smirking as he started to move on.

"Enjoy your evening, Julien."
