{ota} all the right moves

Kritika can usually be found in different places in the Spades castle curled up with her laptop. During hours on her shifts, of course, she's sure to stay close to Katya's office. Either way, she's often doing work of some sort.

... yes, looking through online catalogs counts. In her defense, it's her birthday in two months, and she needs to choose sari colors before then. "What do you think?" she'll ask to whoever passes by.

"I do try." Let it not be said that Michael always shies away from flattery.

"It's never too early to plan for a birthday, My Lady." There will come a day when she will want to not be reminded of birthdays, but there was no reason why she couldn't make the most of it and enjoy while she was young and invincible.

"Although, wouldn't you like the planning to be done for you?" What kind of birthday involved doing your own planning? Clearly something went wrong somewhere.

"The fun is the fact that you're not the one doing the planning." Obviously. Most normal people didn't like to obsess over the details, you know.

"But I can understand that. And you'd want it fitted properly rather than handing over some numbers, presumably. Still, it wouldn't do to make a day trip alone for your own birthday gift. There are few things sadder than such a misfortune."
old_dog: (Mmm...)

"I see. Well then, care to casually drop any hints about what you'd like for your birthday? I'd hate to get you something incredibly useless." Even though he suspected that most people got birthday gifts that were incredibly useless. Either the Spades weren't comfortable sharing too much about themselves to each other, or it was some universal tradition of birthday gift-giving that they've been upholding for thousands of years.

"How about I take you out shoe-shopping instead?" Then he wouldn't have to spend hours agonising over what looked like colourful variations of the same thing to him, and she'd be happy with something - or multiple things - she wanted.
old_dog: (You sure you're alright?)

"I think you can afford to be spoiled on your birthday." Katya wouldn't mind. He would think that she, of all women, would value the importance of shoe-shopping even on the remaining 364 days of the year.
