So apparently there are a zillion things going wrong with the Deck these days. Murders and Challenges and hijinks and all the sort of thing which really, well, if the denizens don't expect it by now, they're just not the best at denizen-ing this particular location of denizenship, are they.

So you know who isn't concerned? This Joker.

And you know who is still riding a high from his weekend get-away with his super-best-friend Johniel? Also this Joker. So you know who is ready to talk your ear off about elephants and dyeing silk and macaroni on a stick? Yes, still Cynric. He is, at least, playing very energetically while he babbles.

Seriously, though. Mac and cheese. On a stick. You know you have hours to listen to him talk about that. Don't be shy.

"On a stick?" Edie's eyes are totally wide. "Like, each individual little pasta piece?"

[hamelinic]

"No, ma'am." Which is what you'd think. But. "All-- squish-molded together and made into its own-- thing."

He's good with words for singing. He doesn't need to be good with words here, right?

[heartvestment]

"Was it fried?" She asks. Because the only thing better than things on sticks is fried things on sticks.

[hamelinic]

"Would I be half so adamant about it if it weren't fried, dear?"

No. No, he wouldn't. Edie it was the best thing ever help he can't stop grinning.

[heartvestment]

"That's amazing. And you brought some back for me, of course?" She's definitely teasing.

[hamelinic]

Stricken. He's absolutely stricken that he didn't think to bring her some. Look how sad. Look how devastated by his own thoughtlessness.

"...I'll recreate it. How hard can it be?"

[heartvestment]

That earns a laugh and a kiss on the cheek. "Don't burn yourself trying on account of little old me."

[hamelinic]

Best payment. The purse of his lips is thoughtful.

"Won't you kiss it better if I do?"

[heartvestment]

"I would not. You'd hurt yourself all the time, then, which would be terrible. Plus, we don't want the other boys getting jealous."

[hamelinic]

"Don't be ridiculous, darling." Give him your hand. It needs kissing, clearly. "I'd love the other boys to be dreadfully jealous of me.

[heartvestment]

How is she supposed to resist? "What a charmer. But what if there's a boy I don't want to make jealous, mm?"

[hamelinic]

"Who wouldn't you want to make jealous? Isn't it one of the greatest methods to a man's heart?" Tell Cynric of your love life. Or give him kisses. Or both.

[heartvestment]

"Mmm, usually," she says, curling her legs up under her. "But the man in question... he has enough going on right now, mmm?" Kisses on the cheek are absolutely doable.

[hamelinic]

Kisses on the cheek are fabulous. But kisses on the cheek are not distracting enough. "Does the man in question have a name?"

[heartvestment]

She only pauses a moment before speaking with a shrug. "Jordan Novak."

[hamelinic]

Gasp. Shock. Scandal. Stay still while he goes to shout this from the rooftops.

Or, well. He's actually fairly comfortable here. Time instead to keep sitting here and make note to shout about it later. "And is he a worthy beau?"

[heartvestment]

She sees that look on his face. It gets a light smack on the arm. "Don't go around telling everyone," she orders with a bemused smile that softens at his next question. "Well, he's kind, charming, great in bed - you tell me."

[hamelinic]

"Ruiner of fun." But fine. He'll only tell most people.

Huff.

"Does he make you happy?"

[heartvestment]

"He does," she admits with a smile. "I'm not sure if its going to ever become serious, but at this point... I wouldn't mind."

[hamelinic]

"Does that mean I've got to be nice to him?" Someone clearly does not approve of having to be nice to still more people.

[heartvestment]

"Why would you have to be nice to him?" she asks with a laugh. "No need."

[hamelinic]

"Because I'd feel moderately bad about making you unhappy by scaring him off or accidentally setting him on fire."

It's a risk people in his vicinity run. Sometimes he's sorry.

Not always, admittedly.
