During the night, a bird found its way in Andrea's rooms. A Northern Cardinal, to be precise, with an injured wing since the landing inside didn't go to well. Long story short, she's planning to keep the poor bird until it gets better then let it go. It'll be her little secret.

... Or it would be if the bird hadn't decided to sing out of the blue when she was out and about. The bird, Rudy his name, was singing very, very loudly. You'll find her trying to shush it quiet to no avail.

[For the Arcana, mostly. Any one else will be treated as if he's leaving the Embassy]

It wasn't hard to get into the Arcana's Castle, though it unnerved him none the less. If a man could make two people disappear, and then a castle and land appear? What was to really say something else wasn't waiting to happen to those that went looking where they really weren't supposed to. Not that that seemed to the be case. Most of the rooms were empty, unlocked and bare of real decoration. One large, empty...huge castle. Not the most rational thing, he thought. More like moving in, verses just building an embassy.

"Pointless," he muttered to himself as he made his way down one set of stairs. Every moment he spent in here only made him more uncomfortable. He was fairly certain that there were more productive things he could do. But he didn't really have anywhere to start. And why move in?

Stopping in the main foray again, Victor pursed his lips. If he was a secret, where would he hide? Plain sight worked for some things, but...nothing had stood out as being particularly insightful on all the rooms he'd nosed through. He could keep search the rooms one by one, but it was largely pointless if he simply kept repeating himself. So...

He'd tried up. What about...down.

If she's learned anything from a long life in the Deck, it's that things shift and change. Monarchs rise, fall, and leave abruptly; bizarre embassies arise out of nowhere; old flames rekindle.

. . . okay. Maybe certain changes are more noticeable than others, but the point remains. You either stay green and grow, or you wither and rot.

There's no time like the present.

...Maybe.

Perhaps two days after an embassy appeared in the distance isn't objectively the best time for Avery to declare that she's going to challenge Farraday for Ten. But this is, in fact, what she's doing, and she's telling you about it.

Mostly for Rachel, but obviously open.

[Locked] Mending Fences with David. Or at least not blowing them up.

After the rage at his loss of the night before, after talking with Lancelot, after walking for hours letting all of his thoughts on the matter run through his mind, after seeing the new spires of the "embassy" appear with the sunrise, and even after his discussion with Chives, Julien has come to a long-overdue conclusion.

He came to the Deck following a story, the promise of a world where he belonged and a position that he'd been born for. He'd had no doubt that he belonged with the Spades, that he would become their Ace. That should have been enough. He should have served the Suit.

But then there had been Athena's challenge and the beautiful, glorious Queen he'd watched there. He'd begun serving her and not the Suit. And the Queen he'd followed for so long he now realizes...had never truly existed. Athena was only a mere mortal, after all.

Which leads him to David. No illusions this time. He's seen David bleed, he's marked the man himself. But David was the King the Suit needed and Julien was its Ace. That would be enough.

Assuming David doesn't kill him on sight when Julien enters his office.

I need a more serious occupation.

Hadyn's contemplating his future. Which is not in acting, despite being fairly good at it. No. He needs something more...serious. If he is going to become a Spade at some point. And honestly, this is more interesting to discuss that Spires or...missing Aces.

Subtlty was an art. No missing people, broken people, or just blatently dead people this time. Surely the one whom he were on his way to would be thrilled of it. (Mayhaps a bit of sarcasm in his thoughts) Just a lot of silence, cold dead silence, and perhaps a few choice words such as, 'I'd be very careful if I were to be wise'. Body language said more than you could imagine. The yabbering that had arose about Lord Ace and the King was coming to a lull. Certainly, the higher Cards had much to do and Sieben was right. Cards would talk more freely around a Three.

Perhaps unwise, but that's how it is. Three wouldn't particularly complain. Smirk maybe. Off time.

And since he'd caught time; he was on his way to drop by Madam Ten's office, Katya. With his own pen, of course. He'd make sure there was far less effort on her part.

ooc: obvs this is meant for Katya, but feel free to bump in to him if you desire.

Of course the moment I start seriously considering dropping my head explodes with Card-related inspiration <.<

ANYWAY going to try to make a bit of an effort to be around, though I'll probably be spotty.

Laila here is restringing her violin.

Do come bother her.
