[ota] stretching out

There was no 'business' excuse for Julien to take Padraig out today, but there was something to be said for letting the horse open up into a gallop out in the open fields of the Deck. There's something to be said for just...getting out of the Castle, even for one as tied to it as Julien is.

And if their gallop takes them close in to Town so it seems reasonable to slow to an ambling pace to let the horse cool off as they ride through the streets toward something warm to drink before they head back to the Castle? So much the better.

[ooc: Catch him if you're out riding too, or if you see him and Padraig 'ambling' down the street, or in the stables on the way out or when they return. :)]

He might not be practicing krav maga any longer, particularly since his trainer had broken up with him, but Hadyn supposed the lessons still made for good use. It was, he thought, probably unfortunate that he'd embarrassed a couple of the Heart's guards in the process, though. Though how much of it he regretted? Probably not as much as they thought he had by the time he'd finished smoothing things over with them- and it had honestly been their own fault for not suspecting he was a sufficiently trained combatant. They assumed every other Spade trait could be applied to him, he had no idea why they failed to realize hand-to-hand combat was something he likely excelled at.

Then again, maybe it was his own fault in letting them assume that in the first place. He had, in the way of many pool sharks, claimed to only be 'fair at best'. 'Fair' might have been a touch of an understatement, even if they gave him back as good as he gave them.

Wrapping a towel about his neck, waved off the guards with a small smile, wondering if he had damaged or possibly repaired any bonds of kinship between Deck born and Outsiders (two of them, at least, had been from the outside originally). They all seemed to share in a sense of brotherhood, though it might have been Hadyn just wanting to see it more than reality. Maybe he ought well just count his blessings in that no riots had broken out in town, and things seemed calming this week.

He phone went off a moment later, a text from Drew glaring at him almost accusingly. 'Where are you? You are supposed to be in a meeting right now.' He could almost hear the irritation in Drew's voice.

'Went out for a run, bbl. You can take my place.'

It wasn't likely going to make Drew any happier, but Hadyn smirked a little as he dropped his phone and moved away from the bench. The question was, should he actually go for that run...or take up boxing for a hobby.
