It's Swing Time~

It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Elisha's motivation for organizing - or, honestly, delegating the organization of - a semi-formal dance party. Lucinda had suggested a ball, with stars in her eyes. She probably had already picked out ballgowns and themes in her head when Elisha had nixed the thing and - in a moment of desperation, with the memory of the swing-themed Fox wedding still in his head - suggest a Spring Swing, instead.

Everyone had run with it, and Elisha was pleased to say it had come out well. He was even more pleased to say that he didn't have to wear a suit, even if he stepped out into the lantern-lit gardens in everything but the tie. He paused near the raised dais provided for dancing and gave the small band the signal to start up the music before he attempted to fade back in the crowd. Not that that ever worked.

"Let the games begin," he murmured to no one in particular as he picked up a glass of champagne off a tray.

It's almost certainly not regular attire for a ball. It skates perilously close to inappropriate for swing. It's definitely a suit, but it's not exactly the expected colours or pattern.

It's definitely suited for spring, though, you've got to give him that. hat with the meticulously painted flowers and all.

And yes, he's randomly sweeping up people for a dance.

Greylan yelped in surprise as he was snagged up into a dance. He laughed some falling into step. "Hello to you to!" He chuckles.

It's not part of the steps to bounce in place, but Rap's never been one for sticking to steps. "Hello! You've been sticking to the wall awhile, I think."

He laughs and grins. "Have I? Well I thank you then...." He pauses, try to remember the man's name. "Ah Rap right?" He smiles then nods. "But yeah. Thanks"

"It is indeed." Sweeping bows while dancing tend to throw a body off, so he just dips Grey a little to accommodate the bowing. "No thanks needed, really. Was the wall an entertaining partner, at least?"

Lasse is pretty sure that someone his age ought to be save from being swept up for anything. It's quite undignified, isn't it? Even - or especially - when the one doing the sweeping up is a young grasshopper such as Mr Scallion.

"Remind me to get you a pair of glasses if I don't end up with a broken hip."

But how can you be enjoying yourself, sir. How if not for a whirl about the dance floor.

"The thought is appreciated, but whatever for? It's not begun to deteriorate yet."

"Because a young man like yourself shouldn't be shaking it with a craggy old guy like me."

It's silly, terribly silly, but you don't see Lasse running away, either. No, if anything, he's having as much fun as Rap.

"Oh, well, if you were embarrassed to be seen with me you should have just said so. Let's go find you a more age-aproppriate partner, hm?" It's pure teasing, the way he's smiling.

"Too late, Master Scallion, too late." Lasse says, whipping out the poshest English accent he is capable of pulling off and he sounds like a member of the Royal Family.

"All the world has seen and will never unsee."

Does this call for a dramatic swoon backwards? Of course it does. He's thinking of your elderly spine here.

"Your reputation! Think of it! How can I apologise?"
