Anastasia has had her life getting very eventful all of a sudden. It's been a little overwhelming, and this post is pretty much her feelings on the subject.

I really wasn't going to post this morning, but cat antics are making me late anyway. SO.

Inspired by real life events (though luckily not involving either sheets or acrylic paint):

Cat evidently went to art school.

Elisha's ten year old James Bond-named tuxedo cat (and yes, he usually does look that bitchy) got into the blue paint. His next masterpiece "Cobalt Footsteps Across the Great White Linen," acrylic paint on white cotton, will be available when 'Lisha throws it out to a lucky buyer very soon.

I've been considering the possibility of taking up a grouchy old surgeon in the Hearts suit for a second card. Is there any particular Hearts history for my gnome to be aware of, or for me to be aware of as I make him?

Currently, my ideas are centered around a bitter nudgenik who'd rather deal with stuffy noses and such than backstabbings--oy, does he kvetch about the backstabbings! It'd be a more humorous character than Isadore, but in some ways a sadder one. There'd be room for background ties--Elisha, for example, would have someone to speak Hebrew around, as Itzhak Operman came into my head as reminding me of a Jewish uncle of mine.

Hi guys. This is Victoria Bradbury, Victory to her parents, who were told they'd never have any, and Vori to her friends.

She's a little thing that smiles a lot, looks after song birds and by all accounts would like to be a court musician like her parents someday, if she could just get up in the morning and stop being so slothful.   Instrument of choice is a harp, although she's got some skill with other stringed instruments and you'll likely find her slacking off under a tree with a guitar at any given time instead of whatever it is she's supposed to be doing...

So, for those interested I've now made a neat little post with Anastasia's background.

And here's a random little SWS of her trying to be a good girl and train her new "skills" when it comes to combat. Expect swearing.

Hey all! Because Elisha clearly doesn't keep me busy enough with his 300+ comments in four days, here I am, again, with someone new. This is Zoë Kattalakis, who is the Six of Hearts, just eighteen, and will be found most of the time in the library (with her head in a book), under a tree (with her head in a book), or in her room (go on, guess). She's kind of confused how she managed to get to Six, is terminally shy unless you're asking after her encyclopedic knowledge of anything that happens to have been in a book she's read, and she's a perpetual wallflower. Seriously, if you asked her to the upcoming masquerade ball? She'd look behind her to see who you were talking to.

She's a very bright girl, though, and when she gets past the terminal shyness disease, she can be unexpectedly insightful.

ETA: And she has some thoughts on Shakespeare.

Here's Uncle Itchy, the Nine of Hearts. He's been around forever--his father, it's rumored, joined the Clubs soon after the Holocaust ended, with hopes of a better life for his family.

Itzhak has a few talents unrelated to medicine: these include bartending, which is why he'd be attending the Masquerade even if there wasn't likely some shenanigans afoot. They also include making the best hangover-cure breakfasts in the Deck; his omelettes make the room stop throbbing.

Also! For those of you that haven't noticed, I've added in Suit tags for people. I plan to make character tags as well, at some point. Soon. Some point soon. Please use these as it makes finding them easier. (Or so I'm learning... It's really hard being a spy master when I haven't actually been keeping up with things...)

[This was going to be longer than six words so didn't post to sws. Also, for the record, he's reacting to this thread which he learned about in that magic way he has of knowing what's going on in the Castle. So one of the servants overheard some part of the conversation, then.]

There's a moment when, perhaps, Victor thinks he's walking by himself down this hallway. Then there's a moment where suddenly the Ace of Spades is beside him, sliding an arm around his shoulders in a friendly fashion.

Should Victor choose to react unpleasantly to this surprise, he will also notice that underneath the Ace's very well-tailored clothes is something that feels like armor intended to ward off blades.

Whatty is being a little wicked. He might have slipped something in to your drink. Good luck kids. (Ideally, Only Spades lower than him, and other suits ^_~)

Feste, she seems to have materialized out of thin air. A female Joker, and one who seems to shuffle into the deck readily: she knows the roles and the players, perhaps better than they know one another.

What the Jokers would know, since only they're aware of where they come from?

Felicity was once a serving girl in Spade Castle, but she left after witnessing one too many royal temper tantrums, and hearing one too many off-hand comments that unnerved her. She spent a few months searching her soul, and eventually realized that really, she couldn't stand to be away from the Deck. She returned only recently, to take up the Joker's mantle. There are still moments where the docile serving girl can be seen--and even when fully in her role, this is the quietest wildcard around.

(Yes, I know I made two in one night. I may wait for the weekend to SWS her an intro, might tag around others' posts first.)

Ceiro is starting to feel as if his party is doomed, mostly because all these terrible references to war and tragic things (Shakespeare is tragic. Have you read Hamlet? That party did not end well. Or duel, dueling party. Whatever.) And wine fixes everything.

Hey kids, Qi here with someone you don't have to watch your smart mouth around because he's not a tiny child!

This is Cadogan, bringing a bit more testosterone to the Diamonds, where he's recently become a 10. He's a good, sweet boy who respects his mother and knows how low to bow to all the face cards. Decent at the shooting and stabbing and killing, decent at the listening to your problems and nodding sympathetically. Not great at talking due to a birth defect, and not so great at finding out who killed Andrew just yet he does penance to his Ace and Queen EVERY DAY I SWEAR.

I'll be prodding the Diamonds for backstory stuff--anyone else who wants to be friends with the skinny Welshman give me a poke!

ETA SWS link; the 10 is NOT avoiding his Queen OR his Ace. He's just... sitting casually behind that curtain. Or bush. Or other large, hide-behind-able thing.
